Selection Process
Students in 7th and 8th grade are first determined to be eligible to be a candidate for the Honor Society base on a cumulative grade average of 93. This average includes grades beginning in 6th grade. The subjects included in the average are Social Studies, Science, Math and Language Arts. Students who meet the criteria for scholarship are sent a candidate information form.
The candidate information form is not an application, but rather a chance for students to provide evidence of the other 4 pillars of the society: service, leadership, character and citizenship. Students may demonstrate these qualities through a variety of activities both in and out of school.
A five-member faculty council will review the candidate information forms and select students for membership. A majority vote by the council is required for membership.
